Associated Metal Kraft was originally known as Associated Metals & Fabrication.  Founded by Al Wirta in 1983, Associated Metals was initially based in Sultan, Washington and offered services such as the repair of logging rigs and heavy equipment.  However, the company eventually started to take on increasingly challenging and unique architectural projects.  As Associated Metals grew, the company developed an excellent reputation with architects throughout the Northwest.

As a matter of fact, many of Associated Metals' curved stair, guardrail and handrail projects have become the central focal point of key architectural designs throughout the region.  For example, one of Associated Metals' earlier projects included the fabrication and installation of the stunning Main Entry Canopy to the Rockefeller Center in New York City.  The company was also responsible for the eye-catching signature steel stair and guardrail for Glaxo Pharmaceutical's Corporate Headquarters in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina.  Some of the company's more recent accomplishments include the grand stair, guardrail, handrail, and associated ornamental work for the Mulvanney/G2 Corporate Headquarters in Bellevue, Washington as well as 18 of the 20 steel stairs in Starbucks Corporate Headquarters in Seattle, Washington.

In March 2006, Jim Kraft bought Associated Metals and changed the name to Associated Metal Kraft.  Now based in Monroe, Associated Metal Kraft continues to grow and enrich its services, providing incomparable architectural fabrication to general contractors and architects throughout the Northwest.  In an effort to further enhance the company's expert staff and specialized iron working equipment, Jim has made a significant investment in new equipment and personnel.  Al Wirta continues to be an integral member of the professional team.
